Our brand new pasta house, Cuoco, is now open in South Lake Union, located at 310 Terry Avenue N.  I’ve dined there once so far, at one of the soft openings, and I found it to be a gorgeous, sexy, romantic space, yet still casual and totally comfortable, with a truly delicious menu.

Don’t you love this painting (photo above right) Tom and Jackie bought for the lounge area? (The artist says the woman in the bathtub is eating a lemon meringue pie, but we’re calling it coconut cream, naturally!)

While you eat, you can watch our delightful pasta cooks rolling and cutting and shaping pasta.  Try the Seven Layer Lasagna Alla Ferrara!

Of course I’m prejudiced; I’d be the first to admit it.  So here’s a lovely review of one of Cuoco’s soft openings by food writer, Leslie Kelly from Seattle Weekly’s Voracious blog.

We know you think we sit around the test kitchen eating cupcakes.  Ok, we do, but only once in a while.  (They were good, too, but we have to make the batter volume a little bit smaller so they dome properly and don’t overflow the edges. First Catch of the Season Halibut at Dahlia!/ by Robyn Wolfe, Marketing

Sous chef Ron Anderson was getting ready to break down this magnificent fifty pound catch when I asked him to stop a minute so I could grab my camera and capture the moment! Line cook John Parker, who loves to ham it up for the camera, had to jump in on the fresh catch of the day action!

 


The fresh halibut that was so carefully broken down that afternoon ended up in my mouth just hours later in the Dahlia dining room. So perfectly seared, at first I hated to cut into that beautifully brown-crusted exterior, but I got over it quickly and devoured an incredible dish that pleased my taste buds beyond belief!
