A Day in LA with Brian Walczyk and Scott Whited/ Bravehorse Tavern Chef and GM
5:55 Meet at SeaTac Airport
9:30 LAX
10:00 Venice Beach for sunglasses
11:00 Langer’s Delicatessen for their famous #19 pastrami and rye, a beef brisket French dip, and French fries. (The best pastrami and rye either of us had ever had.)
11:30 Phillipe’s to try their beef and pork dips (no au jus needed as they dip them for you.) Really loved the horseradish mustard on the tables.
12:30 Wurstkuche. Probably the coolest space of the day. We tried their bratwurst and Italian sausage along with a couple of beers from their mostly German and Belgian beer list.
2:00 Umami Burger. The most flavorful beef of the day. Tried the Manly Burger and the SoCal. Also really liked their jalapeno ranch for the fries.
2:45 Walk it off on Hollywood Boulevard.
3:30 The Apple Pan. This place is an old school burger and pie place. We had the hickoryburger and steakburger and of all the things we tried today, this is the one thing that we completely finished. Great combination of delicious sauce and texture from the half inch of crunchy lettuce.
4:30 In and Out Burger… okay, starting to get really full.
5:15 until 7:15- Father’s Office. Finally time to drink a few beers and these guys have a great selection (of course we split a burger as well.)
8:00 LAX bar, um….
12:00 Back in Seattle
Editor’s note: Brian and Scott spent a day in LA researching for Bravehorse Tavern menu. Look for the opening of Bravehorse Tavern in South Lake Union very soon!

This was an amazing and valiant effort to eat every burger, sausage, and pastrami sandwich in the City of Angels in only one day! Kudos!
