At family meal, otherwise known as staff meal, there’s no hierarchy; you’re breaking bread with your friends. For those 30 minutes, everyone is equal- and hungry. Family meal is our version of the water cooler- but with better food.
I’ll be sharing my thoughts, tips, and observations, and, in the spirit of family meal, I’ve invited our creative, energetic staff- everyone from line cook to bartender to bookkeeper- to have a say. I hope you’ll add your own comments and join in the conversation.

I live in SLU and love the new Serious Pie. When and what will you be serving from the bakery? at your SLU location?

Hi Sara,
The bread and pastry bakeries in the SLU location with Serious Pie #2 are for production. The bakers will produce all the bread and pastries for all the Tom Douglas Restaurants, Tom Douglas Catering, and also for the Dahlia Bakery. The retail Dahlia Bakery, on 4th and Virginia, will remain at its current location.

It’s roomy, airy, well lit, the appliances are new, what’s not to love? Except maybe the parking. Great new digs!

Just an update we will be serving a nice selection of Baked goods at the Westlake location under the Dahlia workshop moniker. We look forward to seeing you there.
