The First Thing I Learned to Cook/ by Robyn Wolfe, Marketing

Cake in my easy bake oven!!  How fascinating that 2 light bulbs could turn a gooey batter into a little warm cake!!!

Amazing considering you were using colored Christmas tree bulbs. Maybe that’s why those cakes had a beautiful blue and red glow to them. Are you still cooking with your easy bake oven?

  2. Chuck Says:

Cora has one (albeit, the cira-2006 model doesn’t have a light bulb!).

If you’re feeling the itch to try it out again, come on over, and we’ll easy-bake-up! Funny, we have “The Easy-Bake Oven Gourmet” cookbook by David Hoffman, and low and behold, Tom is featured with the Palace olive popper recipe! It’s also happens to be the way I learned how he got his nickname Creampuff!

Yes, I remember the bake oven hysterics at our house , It took all day to get a few
samples made, and they were skimpy samples..and it wasn’t because of the economy.
But I’m happy Robyn is doing what she likes to do and has a good group of folks
o work? with, all of you have good day.

Ha! So funny that we have a recipe in that Easy Bake Gourmet book, Chuck! I think it was Maddie Dow, working as an intern for us that summer, who insisted we send them a recipe when the request came in. We told her she would have to get an Easy Bake oven and test the recipe herself in that case, and she did! We were all in a small narrow office over by the Dahlia in those days, and I still remember the smell of those poppers cooking in the little Easy Bake Oven!

The Easy-Bake Oven Gourmet???? I love it! Has Cora made
Tom’s Poppers yet? Yes, I want to bake something with her when we
    get together next time!
