Tom and Shelley Demo Mom’s Day Brunch
In addition to brunch at Lola, Etta’s, and Dahlia Lounge, a special Mother’s Day Brunch was served in the Palace Ballroom yesterday. Tom and Shelley demo’d monkey bread with caramel sauce, cucumber panna cotta, ricotta crepes with gravlax, wild mushroom strata, and coconut cream pie. Some of the Moms wore fancy hats; they ate, watched demos, and sipped bubbly wine. Thanks for everything, Moms!!

My husband and I live in Nashville TN and were on vacation on July 4th in Seattle an friends took us to Etta’s for dinner. The culinary experience was memorable. We were all VERY happy with our choices and decided to have dessert and coffee. I had the coconut cream pie. I have been trying to figure out how to create my own that is similar but so far, not even close. I have to have another piece of this pie!!
It was sooooo incredible. Any hints, tips would be appreciated?? It was so fresh it didn’t appear to be something that would be shippable other wise you would have frequent orders from us. It’s that good. Thank you for a lovely and memorable dining experience.

I’m glad you enjoyed Etta’s and the coconut cream pie. The pie recipe is in our first cookbook, Tom Douglas’ Seattle Kitchen.
